THE PERFORMERS SPEAK

"Being part of Breath of Life has been a really positive experience. At first, I wasn't used to performing, but I know that my life will bring about a change in the lives of other youth. It has challenged me to do what I didn't think was possible and also to get out of my comfort zone. Dance is truly beautiful and I plan to continue with the group and make a difference in the community."

~ Evelin Herrera, Performer

"I enjoy the discipline of the dance and this discipline carries over into the other areas of my life. I've learned to be consistent and faithful to dance practice, and helped me immensely. If you are consistent in what you desire and what you want to achieve, or who you want to be, you can achieve it! I think it has been a little difficult having to exercise in order to be able to do the moves I need to do in Breath of Life, but doing so has helped me become strong and healthy. A lot of people don't get any exercise, but I think being part of the team helps you become agile and pushes you to do things you wouldn't normally do. Apart from the physical aspect of it, being part of Breath of Life has helped me to focus on others and loose sight of how I look. What's great is that I'm making a difference in the lives of others!"

~ Yuria Ibarra, Performer

"Being part of Breath of Life to me is a form of doing what I like and what I've always been attracted to, which is dance and drama. Being in a group that has such an excellent purpose is incredible! Though it has been hard to juggle full-time work, the group I'm mentoring, leadership seminars, and teaching classes, I wouldn't have it any other way! I've come to understand a purpose for my life and I love sharing this purpose with other youth!"

~ Noel Sanchez, Break Dancer and Performer
